Scout Camp 2011

Scout Camp is now over and done with. In the end it was painful, but super fun.

Day 1
We got there while it was still light out but while waiting for some of the leaders it soon got dark. As soon as they got there we hiked 1.8 miles. It was a good start, though it was a little bit painful we were glad to set up camp for the night. It was nice to see the stars- that night I saw two shooting stars and had a great night sleep.
Day 2
We woke up ready and excited for a good hike. Our original plan was to make it to the 7 mile point at which the car was parked with some extra water. And so we were off. It was nice but then our shoulders began to hurt. We took some breaks here and there but we had a good pace until we got to the first little canyon- the barbershop canyon. We were tired there but we trekked on. We soon came to Dane Canyon and we got even more tired. Time continued to past and soon we came up on our 7th mile. We then looked at the map and recognized that the car was going to be a bit further. So we kept going. Our shoulders were getting sore and our bodies getting tired, but we were determined to get to the car. Eventually we ate lunch at Dane Springs. It was really nice to take such a break.
When we finished our lunch we continued on. We came upon another part of Dane Canyon (because we were hiking a loop). After that we came upon the last canyon, another part of Barbershop Canyon. After we finished this part of our hike we completed about 12-13 miles. But by this part we were dead. Most of the team were done with the entire thing. We had some very sore people. There was only a couple of us who wanted to finish the 30 mile but there were even more who could not do the rest. We finish this hike about 5:30 we then drove to the original place where we waited for the leaders. And we ended the night with eating and some games. Then we fell asleep again under the stars.
Day 3
Because so many of the team were ready to go, we woke up and went to McDonalds for so breakfast. After breakfast we travel back home. And our trip was officially over.

And that was the trip in which we took for Scout Camp, it was a great trip and it was a great trip and we had a rather fun time. And I look forward to taking more trips like it in the future.
